Tour Plan
Our tour-guide will pick you up from your hotel or cruise ship.
1st stop – Karnak Temple Complex:
The Temples of Karnak is the biggest temple complex in the world, covering an area of 100 hectares. On entering the temples, you will see the legacy left by each of the various pharaohs as the complex grew. The deeper you venture into the complex, the further back in time you will travel, with the oldest ruins dating back over 3,000 years.
The Great Hypostyle Hall, 102 meters wide and 53 meters long with 134 columns towering above, was called the columns forest. At the back of the complex you’ll find the sacred lake, where centuries ago, the pharaohs and their offerings to the gods were purified.
2nd stop – Luxor Temple:
The Luxor Temple is really true Egyptian temple, with inner walls and columns decorated with intricate hieroglyphics which your tour guide will help decipher. The temple was once joined to the Temples of Karnak, of which some remain, by the long Avenue of the Sphinxes.
Originally, the temple faced a pair of obelisks. One of these is still in place, while the other now stands on “La Place de la Concord” in Paris.
Notably, Alexander the Great had himself written into the Luxor Temple’s history, highlighting the significance of the site.
Finally, following an enjoyable and interesting trip, your tour-guide will escort you back to your hotel or cruise ship.
